A Wellington dentist specializing in cosmetic dentistry will likely be all smiles after being named man of the year.

Farokh Jiveh was recently chosen by the Wellington Chamber of Commerce for his work in the community, including a program called the Holiday Smile Giveaway in which civic volunteers with limited funds receive necessary dental work.

Jiveh will be honored March 28 at the Man of the Year Luncheon held at the Equestrian Club in Wellington. Cost: $ 15 members and $ 20 for nonmembers. For more information call 561- 792-6525.

Caridad Center

Dr. Jiveh and his entire staff volunteer at the Caridad Center any available opportunity. The Caridad Center provides free medical and dental care to a large population of agricultural workers, laborers and the working poor of Palm Beach County through the dedicated work of more than 500 licensed professional and community volunteers.

Wellington Chamber Honors Dr. Jiveh As 'Man Of The Year'

The Wellington Chamber of Commerce installed its 2007-08 executive committee and board of directors at a luncheon held Wednesday at the Tavern on the Green Equestrian Club. At the luncheon, local dentist Dr. Farokh Jiveh was honored as the chamber's "Man of the Year."

"The encouragement, motivation and inspiration that I receive from my wife Jhaleh is truly unsurpassed, and I would never be able to do the things we do if it wasn't for her kindness, compassion and most importantly, support," Jiveh said.

The 2007-08 chamber executive committee will include President Darell Bowen, Immediate Past President Janixx Parisi, President-Elect Mike Nelson, Vice President Diana Tashman, Secretary Dr. Lawrence Bozzomo and Treasurer Sonia Reynolds. Directors are Lew Blatte, Tamara Gerber, Todd Higley, John Mercer, Frank O' Brien III, Councilman Dr. Carmine Priore and Bill Tavernise. Advisory board members include Mark Bellissimo, Mark Bozicevic, Laurie Cohen, Rocky Goins, Frank Suess and Shawn Whisenhant.

"We are going to build on the accomplishments of our past leadership, and we will continue to refine and offer the services that will help our membership grow their businesses," said Darell Bowen, the new chamber president. "Our mission is to serve for the benefit of all our members."

Executive Director Michela Perillo-Green agreed. "I am honored to have the privilege to work with such an exceptional group of community leaders," she said. "Their leadership will no doubt take this chamber to new levels."

Smiles By Jiveh did the same sponsorship in 2006. This year's event was bigger and better and attended by many more people. As the pictures show, our supporters grew temendously as well!

My Brother's/Sister's Keeper
Charitable Trust

Dr. Jiveh is a board member of MBSK My Brother's/Sister's Keeper Charitable Trust and along with its founder, Jess Santamaria, the group makes every effort that the most needy in the community is cared for through this organization.

Board members meet every month to raise money to be distributed to the families in need and those affected by catastrophic events and special and urgent needs in the Western Communities.

100% of all funds raised go directly & solely to the needy. None of the donated/raised money goes towards administrative, employees/workers for the trust. All board members are volunteers giving their own time to the trust.

In 2006 almost $85,000 was disbursed to the families in need from our area.
